Tail stripper Skinmaster

Tail stripper for easily removing the tail skin from the tail vertebrae when skinning mammals. Made of plastic with 3 openings of 6, 8 and 16 mm for tails ranging from small (squirrel) to large (fox). The rounded edges and rough surface make this tail stripper comfortable and sturdy to hold. There are two “pin-hole” locks on the inside of the tail stripper, which hook the two parts of the tail stripper together and prevent them from being pulled out of alignment during stripping.

The tail stripper can be used in two ways:

1. Loose tail: pull the tail out a few centimetres and attach a string with a loop (noose) around the thickest tail vertebrae. Hook this string to a fixed point (hook in the wall, beam, heavy workbench). With the tail stripper clamped around the tail vertebrae, slide the tail skin towards the tip of the tail away from the vertebrae.
2. Tail still attached to the carcass: place the tail stripper around the tail vertebrae so that it does not get stuck. Hold the carcass firmly and pull the tail stripper towards the tip of the tail, sliding the skin off the tail vertebrae.

Please note: both techniques require force, so be careful that the tail vertebrae do not break unexpectedly!
