Fleshing knife, for manually scraping off meat and fat residue from skinned skins.
The fleshing knife is made of sturdy steel and fitted with solid plastic handles. The knife is over 30 cm (12 inches) wide (excluding handles) and has a slight curvature making it ergonomically easy to handle.
This taxidermy tool is generally used for removing flesh and fat from tropymount skins and flat skins or for scraping and defleshing fur.
Tip: Lay or stretch the skin over a sturdy wooden beam with the flesh side facing you. Scrape meat and fat residue from the skin by pulling the knife towards you. The knife does not have to be very sharp, it scrapes more than it cuts!
