Fixation rods to fixate skin folds, hair, or feathers
Plastic fixing sticks to fix skin folds, hair, or feathers so they can dry properly. The sticks are approximately 15 cm long, 1 cm wide, and feature 20 holes. You can secure the sticks with our yellow, orange, and black fixing pins.
The fixation rods are stiff, but can also be deformed into an arc using hot air (for example, a paint stripper). This allows the rods to be fitted to the specimen, making them suitable for birds, for instance. These fixation rods are most effective in skin folds, such as on trophy heads. Provided they are properly pinned, the rods hold the skin in place during drying.
The advantage of these fixation sticks is that they can be reused many times. A package contains 10 fixation sticks.
