Set of 2 metal curved calipers, length approx. 20 cm, measuring range approx. 30 cm.
A curved caliper or gauge is a handy and therefore indispensable tool for checking the symmetry of, for example, artificial eyes in a specimen. By placing one tip of the caliper in the centre of the nose and then using the other tip to measure the distance to, for example, the corner of an eye, and subsequently rotating that tip to the same position on the other eye, it is easy to see whether the distances are equal and thus whether the eyes are symmetrical in relation to the nose.
